Kimball Street 2nd Alarm Residential Structure Fire

At 12:13 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, multiple 911 callers reported two homes burning on Kimball St. in the Clarke Farms neighborhood. Parker Police Department Officers were first to arrive, and they evacuated neighboring homes. A short time later, Battalion Chief 4, Engine 41 and Tower 45 arrived, they observed one home fully engulfed, and a second home half engulfed with flames. Centennial Airport Air Alert 3

At 1:51 p.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023, SMFR responded to an aircraft emergency at Centennial Airport after a Rockwell Commander 112 experienced a gear up landing on Runway 17R. Thankfully both occupants safely exited the plane without injuries, and a small fire was quickly extinguished before SMFR arrived. Peakview Ave. Fuel Spill

At 1:26 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, Local members responded to 11755 E. Peakview Ave. in Centennial for a reported large fuel spill. After a semi truck was positioned to tow a trailer, the unoccupied vehicle rolled across an open parking lot and struck an unoccupied Ford Mustang in a parking space. The collision forced the Mustang into a drainage culvert and the semi came to rest on a cement curb. Burgundy Garage Fire

On June 19, 2023, just after 8:40 p.m., South Metro dispatchers received multiple calls reporting a residential garage was on fire with active flames and black smoke. Safety 18 was first on scene and confirmed that all of the occupants had evacuated. Members from Tower 18 quickly performed a 360 and made access into the garage. On June 5th just after 8 p.m., South Metro received an emergency call from an individual stating they were experiencing a substance exposure at one of the Ascent Apartment buildings located in the 8400 block of E. Yale Ave. When members from Engine 21 arrived, they began investigating to locate the substance and if there was a larger threat to other building occupants. Just after 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, numerous 911 callers reported smoke billowing from the roof a building at Glenn Oaks, located 2301 E. Fremont Ave. in Centennial. A charging lithium-ion battery caused a fire in Centennial this morning. Just before 8 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, several 911 callers reported smoke billowing from a home in the 6300 block of S. At 6:36 a.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023, Local members responded to a reported residential fire on Cranston Cir. In Highlands Ranch. A neighbor saw black smoke coming from a garage and alerted the occupants inside the home. Greentree Village Multi Family Structure Fire

May 5, 2023 -Around 2:13 p.m., Local members were dispatched to a multi-family structure fire near S. Quebec St and S. Parker Road in Arapahoe County. The fire was located in the crawl space of the building, which made access difficult. However, members were able to extinguish the fire before it could extend into units. The crews ventilated the building and ensured that it was safe before allowing residents to return to their homes. Thankfully no injuries were reported during the incident. South Lamar Court Dog Rescue

Around 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, Local members and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Animal Control responded to a pooch stuck under a porch near S. Kendall Blvd. and S. Platte Canyon Rd. Zoe, the 7-year-old Labrador Retriever, was having a ruff morning after she became trapped under an old cement patio located beneath a wooden deck. At 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023, 911 callers reported a house on fire with people still inside, in the 7000 block of S. Marshall St. in Jefferson County. On Monday, April 3, 2023, at 12:56 p.m., Local members responded to a brush fire at the intersection of West County Line Road and Southpark Terrace in Littleton. First arriving members reported heavy smoke and an approximate 200x200 fire containing cattails and brush with heavy timber nearby. On March 6, 2023, at approximately 12:03 p.m., Local members were dispatched to a multi-family residential structure on S Dayton Street in Arapahoe County. When the caller reported smoke inside their basement and that their smoke alarms were sounding, dispatchers quickly advised the caller to evacuate their home. First arriving members reported active smoke, established a water supply and completed a primary search. The fire was contained to the basement area after checking for extension in the walls.
