Early this morning, at approximately 2:21 a.m. Local 2086 and 1290 members were dispatched after multiple phone calls reporting a garage on fire at a multi-family apartment complex on E. Florida Avenue in Arapahoe County. Arapahoe County Deputies were first on scene and confirmed seeing active flames, that the garage was an unattached structure and began to notify and evacuate the closest apartment building. At 12:14 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, several 911 callers reported a vegetation fire burning in the open space at E. Otero Ave. and S. Monroe Way in Centennial. Some callers reported the fire to be spreading quickly with structures close by, which prompted a large wildland interface fire response from South Metro. Just before 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, Local members and Arapahoe County Sheriff Deputies responded to a traffic collision involving a structure at S. Jordan Rd. and E. Jameson Dr. in Arapahoe County. When Safety 35 arrived, the member could smell natural gas and observed an SUV laying on its side, wedged between a retaining wall a 3-story apartment building. South Dayton St. Multi-Family Structure Fire

On March 6, 2023, at approximately 12:03 p.m., Local members were dispatched to a multi-family residential structure on S Dayton Street in Arapahoe County. When the caller reported smoke inside their basement and that their smoke alarms were sounding, dispatchers quickly advised the caller to evacuate their home. First arriving members reported active smoke, established a water supply and completed a primary search. The fire was contained to the basement area after checking for extension in the walls. Matchless St. Structure Fire

At 02:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, Local members from 2086 and 1309 responded to a reported structure fire in a new construction neighborhood near N. Rampart Range Rd. and Monte Vista Ave. in Douglas County. While enroute, the glow from flames and an illuminated smoke column was visible from several miles away. At 10:18 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023, Local members responded to a reported electrical fire at the Lyra Apartments, located at 9641 E. Geddes Ave. in Centennial. A boring operation was in progress near the building when equipment struck a secondary electrical supply line. Thankfully no electrocution or injuries occurred, but an interior electrical utility room filled with smoke. Mountain Brush Circle Residential Structure Fire

Just before 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023, Local members responded to a reported house fire with one person still inside near S. Quebec St. and E. Mountain Brush Cir. In Highlands Ranch. Upon arrival, members observed smoke coming from the home and confirmed that the family had safely evacuated. On February 1, 2023, at approximately 5:27 a.m., Local members responded to S Parker Road, in Arapahoe County, for reports of a fire at a multi-family structure. First arriving members reported an active fire in a unit on the first floor, with heavy smoke conditions, and extension to the second and third floors. Just after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2023, Members from Engine 15 were dispatched to a fire alarm activation at Portola at SouthGlenn, located at 6851 S. Gaylord St. in Centennial. Upon arrival, the crew observed dense black smoke in the loading dock and upgraded the response to a working structure fire. On January 21, 2023, at approximately 3:48 a.m., Local member from 2086 and 1290 were dispatched for a reported residential structure fire on S. Parker Road in Arapahoe County. Arapahoe County Sheriff Officers were first on scene and reported seeing heavy white smoke coming from the inside of the structure. Members confirmed an active fire in the crawl space while they quickly completed a primary search, established a water supply and secured utilities. January 11, 2023 - Just after 10 p.m., Local members responded to a home fire near E. Hampden Avenue and S. Dahlia Street in Cherry Hills Village. Homeowners quickly and safely evacuated when they heard their smoke alarms sounding. Based on the initial 9-1-1 description of the scene, BC3 upgraded the response to a confirmed structure fire. Around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Local members and Arapahoe County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported vehicle in the water with a person trapped in the 7400 block of S. Joliet St. in Centennial. Being prepared for the worst, the large emergency response included Dive and Technical Rescue Team personnel. When members arrived, they found an SUV 8-10 feet below grade in a drainage culvert with approximately 6 inches of runoff water flowing through. December 30, 2022 - Around 7:45 p.m., Local members responded to a reported structure fire near Lincoln Ave and S. Chambers Rd in unincorporated Douglas County. Residents had called 9-1-1 when they entered their home to find smoke and flames. First-arriving members quickly controlled and extinguished the room and contents fire and ensured the fire did not extend further into the home. Members from first arriving Engine 17 initially reported nothing showing and after further investigation they confirmed working fire conditions. Upon arrival members found water flowing from the fire sprinkler system and light smoke with an electrical odor. At 10:42 a.m. on November 9, 2022, Local members responded to Runway 10/28 at Centennial Airport after a Van’s RV7 airplane experienced an accident while departing. Airport Operations personnel quickly arrived and confirmed that both occupants of the aircraft were safe and uninjured.
